Executive Board Profiles
Co-President: Belinda Chen
Hi everyone! My name is Evan Kratzer and I am a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Scarsdale, NY, getting certificates in American Studies and East Asian Studies. Before being co-president, I was the Asian American Studies chair. Outside of AASA I am also involved in the Princeton Journal of East Asian Studies, The Stripes, the Petey Greene Prisoner Assistance Program, and am a Peer Academic Advisor in Forbes.
I wasn't really into Asian American issues in high school. But then I read Helen Zia's book Asian American Dreams (highly recommend). I was hooked and decided to work on Asian American studies and Asian American issues more generally during my time at Princeton.
As AASA co-president, I hope to work on expanding our outreach with the Asian American community off-campus, reach out to new communities at Princeton, and to make even more progress in our push for Asian American studies on campus. Let me know if you have any ideas! I'm happy to listen.

Hey guys! My name is Lena Sun, and I am a junior majoring in Economics with a certificate in Global Health and Health Policy. I am proud to call myself a Jersey girl (even though I currently live in MD).
Growing up, I very often separated my "Asian" and "American" identities, acting on the former at home with family and the latter at school with friends. Only when I joined my high school's Asian American Club did I begin to see my identity as an intersection of the two, and I have definitely felt my perception of myself grow clearer through this merged identity. I want to bring that same self-discovery experience to others who are still developing their identities -- whether it be Asian American or any other identity -- through planned programming and open dialogues, and that's what ultimately drew me to AASA.
As co-president of AASA, I work with Evan to help guide the realization of AASA's multi-faceted mission of connecting with the campus, promoting social justice, and raising awareness of Asian American issues through various initiatives and events. Through my time serving as AASA co-president, AASA has held events from a sushi making study break to a lecture with Amy Chua, and I have worked very closely with the Carl A. Fields Center in the planning this past year's Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. My goals for AASA this upcoming year is to promote closer group unity and to promote creativity within the group for ideas that we can bring to Princeton and the community.
When not at AASA, you can find me playing violin with the Triangle Club or at the tennis courts with Club Tennis. I also am a RCA in Forbes College and work at the Office of Sustainability. Feel free to say hi if you see me! I'm definitely always more than willing to chat!

Vice-President: Andrew Hahm
Hi! I'm Lillian, a Woodrow Wilson major from State College, Pennsylvania. In AASA, I work with committee heads and the co-presidents in organizing various events, such as Café Night and Nightmarket. I love the direction AASA is taking in expanding its campus presence and its progress in establishing an Asian-American Studies department on campus. I hope to continue these efforts and increase discussions about Asian-American issues, which is the reason why I first joined AASA. In addition to AASA, I also sing in the Glee Club and the Princeton Tigerlilies. I also work at the Princeton Writing Center and serve as a PAA for Rockefeller College.
Secretary: Emily Chen
Hi! My name is Vivian, and while I have not yet declared a major, I hope to study either chemistry or geoscience. Born and raised in a small town nestled in West Virginia, I like to describe myself as being "Appalasian."
I joined AASA's frosh board the first semester of my freshman year and found the group to be very tight knit, approachable, and driven. I am the group's current treasurer and hope to see the group grow on campus. I hope that in the coming year we can further develop our network of Asian Americans around the country and invite them on campus to speak, perform, and hang out with us. You can find me on campus counting the stacks and stacks of money we'll be receiving from tank sales, eating ice cream, playing tennis, and/or feeding my pet fish. If you'd like to do any of these activities or hold conversations about Asian Americans in the political world, hit me up!

Hi everyone! My name is Allyson Kim, and I am a rising sophomore from Haworth, NJ. Although I haven't decided what I want to major in yet, I am currently considering Molecular Biology and Economics. In addition to serving as the secretary of Asian American Students Association, I am a Whitmanite, a co-president of GlobeMed, a member of the Student Health Advisory Board, a Peer Health Advisor-in-training, and a member of the Political Board in the Korean American Students Association. If you ever see me on campus, feel free to stop me and say hi!
Asian American Studies Chair: Rebecca Weng
Hey everyone! My name's Daniel, and I'm a Woody Woo junior from Atlanta. I'm a Social Chair for AASA, which means planning fun events. On campus, I'm part of Princeton Raising and Giving (RAG) -- that takes up most of my time. Anyway, I truly believe AASA is very, very important to the Princeton community, and it has without a doubt shaped my college experience in my time here.
Community Engagement Chair: Christin Park
Hey guys! This is Michelle Park-- formerly co-Political Chair-- debuting as one of AASA's Social Chairs this year alongside resident stud/slayer/sailor Dan He (Don't all jump at once, ladies).
I'm a sophomore from Huntsville, Alabama and am majoring in Psych/Neuro (Also pre-med-- throw me a pity like). Outside of AASA, I'm a research assistant in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and a dancer in Raks Odalisque, Princeton's Belly Dance troupe.
In case you are unfamiliar with us, AASA is foremost a politically-minded, project-driven organization that seeks to raise awareness about Asian American issues on campus and has been an instrumental proponent to the effort to bring an Asian American Studies Program to Princeton. Behind the projects though, AASA is just a bunch of kids who care-- we care about the political, social, cultural movements around us, and we'd love to share with you guys why. So if you aren't a member or friend already, I sincerely hope you consider coming out to one of our meetings. AASA has been like my family in so many ways since I've come to Princeton, and we're always, always down for new friends.

Hello! My name is Andrew Hahm, and I am this year's Asian American (ASAM) Studies Chair. I am a potential mathematics major from Ramsey, NJ. As the ASAM Studies Chair, I'm responsible for making sure that there is strong undergraduate support for the creation of an ASAM Studies program here on campus. I'm really excited for all of the progress ASAM Studies has made in the past year, and I'm looking forward to all of the progress we'll make this year! You can find me anywhere but Dillon Gym.
Political Projects Chair: Nicholas Wu
I'm an ORFE major from San Francisco interested in health IT and global health. I joined AASA to learn more about the Asian American identity and have since become fascinated by the complex range of historical, gender, and socioeconomic issues confronted by Asian my brethren and sistren in these great United States. As political projects chair and a member of the Asian American Studies Committee, I hope next year AASA can play a greater role in facilitating a larger conversation about race and power on campus while educating ourselves about the rich history and diverse status quo of Asian America.
Outside of AASA, I'm involved in GlobeMed, the Prince Design Team, and Engineers without Borders.

I'm Annie Lu from the Golden State of California (BAY AREA REPRESENT!!). I'm currently one of the Community Engagement Chairs along with Daway (the bold, cool kid who used to eat rocks).
I am a Freshman planning to major in Economics. I joined AASA at the beginning of Fall as part of the Frosh Board. I initially joined AASA because I had very little knowledge of current issues in the Asian American community. As I got more involved, I learned more about myself as an Asian American. AASA, as a whole, allows its members to embrace their Asian side as they learn more about their roots. Through AASA, I met some of the closest people I currently have on campus. AASA is just full of awesome people.
Outside of AASA, I am also involved in TASA and Princeton Raising and Giving.

Hi, all! My name is Tiffany and I hail from Holmdel, New Jersey. I'm a tentative Molecular Bio major and I plan to get a certificate in Spanish. I joined AASA as a freshman because I thought it would be a good way to keep connected with my roots as I tried to adjust to college life, but soon discovered that AASA had become an integral part of my Princeton experience. Being an Asian American has always affected my life in so many different ways, and it’s a huge and inseparable part of my identity. AASA is an incredibly important organization because it raises awareness of commonly overlooked issues that affect Asian Americans. Apart from being in AASA, I play oboe in the Princeton University Orchestra and Contrapunctus XIV, sing in Chamber Choir, and I’m a member of the Princeton Premedical Society and Rocky Council College. Hope to see new and fresh faces in AASA :)
