COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Mission

  • Identify and reach out to organizations or groups with whom AASA members can volunteer or for whom we can fundraise.
  • Establish relations with community centers, small businesses, and perhaps local schools.
  • The mission of the community outreach committee is to raise awareness for Asian-American issues through campus-wide events and opportunities to get involved. We aim to strengthen the relationships within AASA and with Asian Americans on campus. Our initiatives include hosting Asian-food-themed study breaks and  “Family Talks” dinners open to all interested students.

About the Chairs

I'm Annie Lu from the Golden State of California (BAY AREA REPRESENT!!). I'm currently one of the Community Engagement Chairs along with Daway (the bold, cool kid who used to eat rocks).

I am a Freshman planning to major in Economics. I joined AASA at the beginning of Fall as part of the Frosh Board. I initially joined AASA because I had very little knowledge of current issues in the Asian American community. As I got more involved, I learned more about myself as an Asian American. AASA, as a whole, allows its members to embrace their Asian side as they learn more about their roots. Through AASA, I met some of the closest people I currently have on campus. AASA is just full of awesome people.

Outside of AASA, I am also involved in TASA and Princeton Raising and Giving.
